Our mission is to save lives, protect property, and enhance community safety through prompt and professional emergency response services. We strive to foster a culture of preparedness and resilience within our community, ensuring that every citizen has help when they need it.
The Rural Deltana Fire Protection District, founded in 1985, was renamed RDVFD in 1995. We are a 501c3 non-profit.
The Rural Deltana Volunteer Fire Department (RDVFD) holds primary responsibility for 127 miles of State highway, spanning from the Johnson River Bridge to Delta along the Alaska Highway, and from Mile Marker 202.5 at McCallum Creek to Mile Marker 294.8 at the borough line along the Richardson Highway. RDVFD operates within a service area covering 5,897 square miles and serves an estimated resident population of approximately 5,000 individuals. This region constitutes a major thoroughfare for seasonal tourism and is frequently travelled by industrial traffic and large commercial vehicles.
The RDVFD is overseen by a seven-member board of directors and is comprised of a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters. In addition, the department is supported by several auxiliary support members. RDVFD operates two fire stations: Clearwater and Big Delta.
Your generous donations help us provide essential training, equipment, and resources for our dedicated volunteers. Together, we can ensure the safety of our community and continue our mission to protect lives and property. Thank you for your support!
